La Mer Salée
Cover’s collection
2022
Designing covers that echo La Mer Salée’s mission: giving shape to ecological thought and utopian dreams.
La Mer Salée is a publishing house committed to ecological and social futures. For this project, I designed a collection of book covers that embody their utopian vision, blending bold typography and symbolic imagery to echo themes of resilience, imagination and collective hope. The design explores how visual language can carry forward environmental values, creating covers that are both striking and meaningful.
Distortion of the book title through several stages.
At stage 4, a randomly generated ripple transforms the title into a graphic element in its own right, to be arranged as a motif on the book covers.
This simple process makes it possible to design the covers by repeating the steps for each one, ensuring a unique outcome for every publication.
It can also be achieved using a scanner and directly printing on colored paper, making the process easily replicable

Physical prototyping
A series of handmade mockups exploring materiality and scale. This stage bridges the gap between digital design and the reality of the printed version.
